FAQS

Which areas do you cover?

I shoot most of my weddings in Yorkshire but I love to shoot right across the country and abroad. Travel to weddings throughout the UK is included in my package. Here’s a picture I took out in Malta.

Do you do formal group shots?

Absolutely. I recommend shooting between 6 and 8 groups shots but am happy to chat through what you need. I like to make the process as painless as possible. We’ve all been at weddings where the photographer takes up the entire period between ceremony and reception for photos. That’s not me! Grab a glass, enjoy some canapes and when you’re ready we’ll have some fun herding friends and family in to position for a few nice group shots.

What are you wearing?

I usually wear a white or other light coloured plain shirt, smart trousers and smart shoes. Just lately I’ve been collecting a nice collection of waistcoats for weddings and to be honest, it’s becoming a bit of an addiction.

Can I give you a list of shots?

Before the wedding we’ll have a pre-wedding chat about the day and this is a great time to let me know about any details that are really important for me to capture or VIP’s that I should be looking out for. We will also finalise the list of group shots you’d like but you don’t need to worry about putting together or downloading a list of images such as ‘walking down the aisle’ and ‘cutting of the cake’.

Do we need a pre-wedding shoot?

It’s entirely up to you! If you are really nervous about having your picture taken then the pre-wedding shoot is a great chance for me to put you at ease in front of the camera. It is all part of creating fantastic pictures on your wedding day. You get all of the images from the shoot included they’re great for save the date cards, invites or thank you cards.

Do you work alone?

I usually work alone. This allows me to blend in to the background for much of the day and ensures that your guests don’t feel like they are being papped! For larger or more complicated weddings I will bring an assistant and I work with a number of other very talented people if you would like to have two photographers.

Do you need a meal?

It’s always nice when couples provide a hot meal but I understand that this isn’t always feasible. During the wedding breakfast I’ll be backing up images so although I’m occasionally invited to, I prefer not to sit in the main room.

How long will it take to get our images?

Your full set of images will be online in a password protected gallery between 4 and 6 weeks after the wedding (and often sooner). Your disc will follow in the post.

Can we make our own prints?

Absolutely; prints, mugs, mousemats, jigsaws, go for it! While I retain copyright of the images, you are granted a license for personal use.

If you would like me to help you source framed prints or canvases please just let me know. I work with some great suppliers. Guests can also order prints from the online gallery.

How many photographs will we get?

Depending on the type and size of the wedding you will usually get between 300 and 600 images.

Can you pencil us in?

I’m afraid not. If someone else enquires for your date then I’m happy to give you a quick call to see if you are ready to make a decision but dates can only be reserved with a signed order form and booking fee.

Do you have back up equipment?

Absolutely! spare cameras, lenses, batteries and memory cards are always in the bag. Sometimes I even pack a spare pair of socks. You never know!

Are you insured?

Yes. I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance as well as protection for all of my equipment.

Our budget is quite tight, can you give us a discount?

I’m always happy to discuss budgets. Discounts are sometimes available for midweek weddings and very occasionally for shorter days.

How do we book?

Get in touch and I’ll let you know if I’m available on your wedding day. If I am then I’d love to have a chat It’s a chance for me to find out more about you both, your plans for your wedding and ultimately if I’m a good fit to work with you on your day.

I’ll send you an order form and if you’d like to book you just need to sign it and return it with your deposit.
