SINEAD AND ADAM AT THE OLD SWAN IN HARROGATE

Posted on by admin Posted in Photography, Weddings & Engagements | Leave a comment

I met Sinead’s dad in the car park and he confirmed that the Irish contingent had arrived safely. They were closely followed by the locals checking in at reception. Adam had been banished from the bridal suite where the girls were now taking a laid back approach to their preparations. They had not even opened the bubbly when I arrived but the champagne was soon flowing.

IAN AND CLAIRE PRE-WEDDING SHOOT

Posted on by admin Posted in Photography, Weddings & Engagements | Leave a comment

Saturday started with a familiar face. I was meeting with some potential clients and soon recognised the bride-to-be as one of my Leeds Trinity alum. It was great to chat about old times up on Brownberrie Lane.

The Leeds Trinity theme continued in to the afternoon as I met up with Ian and Claire for their pre-wedding shoot. I know Ian from our time at University where he helped set up the Rugby Union team whilst I was running the Students’ Union. After graduating he joined the RAF but kept in touch with his rugby team mates and it was at one of their annual reunion matches that he met Claire.

We headed to ‘The Hollies’ in Meanwood, where Ian and Claire have enjoyed many walks in the past and it provided a fantastic back drop for the shoot.

CHEERS MOTHER

When it comes to family get togethers I try to leave the camera at home. When you’re passionate about photography it can be hard to put the camera down and so sometimes it’s best to just leave it in the bag, but I couldn’t resist taking a few pictures over Christmas.

I’ve only just had chance to look through my festive images and the one below is by far my favourite. It was taken on Christmas day as my mum prepared our Christmas lunch. Today is my mum’s birthday so I thought I’d take this opportunity to post the picture and says a big ‘Thanks Mum’ for Christmas dinner and a fair few other things over the years!

You captured such precious moments without us even knowing, that’s what made it all the more special. You took the time to understand our needs and therefore took a subtle, but friendly approach.

STACEY & KEVIN’S CHRISTMAS WEDDING

Posted on by admin Posted in Photography, Weddings & Engagements | Leave a comment

This Christmas has probably been one of my most hectic in recent years with Christmas day in Derbyshire, Boxing Day in the Isle of Man and then back home ready for Stacey and Kevin’s wedding yesterday. Despite some rain everyone had a fantastic day and it was a great way to end the Christmas festivities with carols during the service and Christmas trees lighting up both the church and reception venues.

Stacey was one of the calmest brides I’ve ever met, quietly getting ready with her mum Carol, and sister Nicola who was her Bridesmaid.

Despite the early calm, time soon marched on and led to a bit of a production line of dress fitting:

But we still had time to make the most of some beautiful window light to take some pictures of our bride:

Meanwhile Kevin, the groom, waited patiently in the church:

But it wasn’t long before he was leading the new Mrs Huby down the aisle:

STACEY & KEVIN’S SIGNATURE MOUNT

Posted on by admin Posted in Photography, Weddings & Engagements | 1 Comment

A Signature mount is a great alternative to a guest book, giving you a memory from your wedding day that can hang on your wall for years to come. They are simply a standard photo mount with an oversized surround where guests can sign their names and leave messages on your wedding day.

Signature Mount

Some online suppliers charge as much as £50 for these but they are much better value if you go to your local picture framers and get one made. I ordered this one to fit a 12 x 8 inch print and the overall size is 50cm x 70cm. To get the highest quality and longest lasting finish it is best to take the mount back for framing after your wedding day but I chose this size to give Stacey and Kevin the option of using an off the shelf frame from that well known Swedish Frame Company.

An engagement shoot picture is ideal for putting in the mount and this can of course be swapped out for one of your wedding images once they are ready. Here is the picture that Stacey and Kevin chose:

Their wedding is on the 29th of December and will mark the end of a pretty hectic but very exciting Christmas break. We’re  starting in Leeds and taking in Ilkeston and the Isle of Man before the wedding.
